SCEA’s OutFront Youth Group

If you are a youth who has questions about your sexual identity, coming out, or just want to learn about acceptance, and diversity of all members of society, then drop in or give us a call!

First and foremost we are here for young people. We are here to offer support, and answer your questions.

Our role is to enhance the lives of all GLBTQQ young people. Outfront feels offering our support and discussion group is one of the most valuable services it can provide. All groups are facilitated by trained volunteers and operated according to a set of rules developed by the staff of Outfront, and the Board of Directors of the Southern Colorado Equality Alliance. For more information please contact us.

WHY ARE WE HERE?

OutFront is here to support and empower (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trangender, and Queer and Questioning) youth living in Pueblo and the surrounding area, through a range of support services, leadership training, community education, and advocacy.

We strive to successfully increase youth confidence, build their inner personal assets, and create a healthier community.

Our purpose is to build community and inspire positive social change through education, health promotion, and leadership development with LGBTQQ youth, their families, and allies of all races, classes, genders, and abilities.

We envision a diverse society where LGBTQQ youth are embraced for who they are and encouraged to be who they want to be. By working towards social justice and supporting young leaders, their families and allies.

WHAT DO  WE OFFER?

 We want to help build a world that honors and respects and appreciates LGBTQQ youth and their contributions through;

A Support Group: 2nd and 4th Friday at 5:30 pm at the Glendale 4 building (731 E. 4th Street, Pueblo) - This group is designed for your need of support. Various topics are discussed.

This is a place where you will become empowered as a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or questioning youth. You will no longer feel alone, invisible, condemned, and unsafe simply because you are you.

OutFront works day and night so that regardless of the messages you may get from unfriendly politicians, religious figures, teachers, coaches, or parents, at OutFront you can learn to love yourself.

Recreation Activities and Social

Events at least every last Saturday of the month at 6pm - A time for you to meet up with others LGBTQQ youth for a fun night of hanging out and making new friends. Join us each month for food, games, movies, and cool people!

Cost varies for each activity. No one is excluded because of inability to pay.

PROGRAM GOALS:

Provide a safe, supportive, and confidential space in which youth ages 15-21 can explore their feelings, learn communication skills, gain a sense of self-identity, and develop self-esteem

Promote leadership development and skills building. Address prevention issues related to HIV/AIDS, STD's, and substance abuse, through group discussion, outreach and education, and mentoring.

Include social programming, such as Youth Prom, talent shows, and holiday celebrations

Provide a place for young people to meet others, have fun, participate in special events, talk, and make friends.

NOTE TO PARENTS:

OutFront is a support and activity program sponsored by the Southern Colorado Equality Alliance, whose mission is to foster a community that nurtures the development of a positive sexual identity in all people.

All meetings are held in public locations with supervision. The support and activity groups are designed to be safe, friendly environments for young people to discuss their feelings and problems.

If you are an adult concerned for the well being of youth who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered we welcome your input, your emotional and financial support, and especially your questions.

A safe place for lesbian, bisexual, transgender, gay, queer, and questioning youth ages 15-21.

Have fun and meet new friends!
